GOOD TIME HAD BY ALL AT RECENT FUN DAY
15 clinic participants, and nearly 20 auditors, spent the day with the Kokal Family, Andre,
Stephanie, Nik & Kris for the first event of the season up at the NEECA Arena. This horse
loving family shared the techniques they have learned over the years to help teach our
horses to work with us as willing, respectful partners. It was fascinating to watch many of
horse in the arena literally soften and get better right before our eyes. For more info, be

Versatility Clinic Raises Over $800.00!!
The Versatility Clinic donated by Wendy Warner of
Seven Springs Farm to NEECA as a fundraiser
was a smashing success. Over $800 was raised,
people had the chance to come out and "play" with
their horses, plus learned a lot about groundwork
and what judges look for in riding tests.

NEECA News
The first two work days of 2009 have been EXTREMELY productive. There is now fencing up at the back of the grandstand, the well/pump is in the process of being finished, the driveway leading into NEECA has been cleared of debris and the foliage has been cut back, new grass has been planted, fertilizer applied, the first trail is nearly completed and work on the brand new warm-up area is well underway.

On what had to be one of the nicest days of the year so far, over 55 riders turned out to
participate in NEECA's Spring Trail Ride up at Lake Dennison in Winchendon. Thanks to
ride coordinator, Jean McCurdy, riders were able to spend the day traveling the beautiful,
well-marked trails that wind through Lake Dennison, a real treat after so many of our local
trail systems were damaged by the ice storm last December. Many thanks to all of the
NEECA volunteers who worked to make the day such a success, and all of our "guests"
who showed up to participate in the ride.
NEECA Trail Ride Update, 5/17/09
Fun Day 2009 once again lived up to the goal of providing our members with a relaxed, inviting atmosphere in which to enjoy their horses, and the friendship of other horse enthusiasts. Many thanks to the hard-working volunteers who helped make it happen, our "judge for the day" Wendy Warner, and all the participants who took part in this event.
